The University of Rochester has core research strengths in a number of multidisciplinary fields. Current strategic plans highlight research priorities for the Medical Center and for Arts, Sciences and Engineering.

Biomedical Sciences

The University and its affiliates and partners carry on diverse programs in biomedical research, based in over a dozen centers. Basic and clinical research in this area is also concentrated in the University of Rochester Medical Center.
